Changes Ahead for Haute Hijab and What This Means for You

After almost two years as part of the Haute Hijab team, our extraordinary Order Fulfillment and Customer Support Specialist, Erin Smith, has accepted a full-time position at a non-profit in Chicago. Many of our most loyal customers have developed a special relationship with her as she oversees your orders and helps you with everything you need. We knew this day would come eventually as her talent and remarkable work ethic would not go unnoticed by other worthy employers; nevertheless, it still is really sad to see her go. Although Erin’s departure is a great loss to the Haute Hijab family, we've decided to use this opportunity as a vehicle to allow us to grow, change and adapt. By the grace of God Haute Hijab has grown tremendously. Our customer base is growing at an almost unmanageable rate, as all of you who have gone on to our website only to see your favorite print sold out know very well. Orders have poured in at such a rate that shipping times have slowed as Erin is careful not to sacrifice precision and attention to detail with each package she sends out. Upon the news of her departure, our team decided it’s time to move in the direction we’re already headed toward – an automated eCommerce warehousing and order fulfillment service. We are currently in the process of switching over to this new inventory and order fulfillment platform and want to let all of you know what to expect moving forward.
What This Means For You
The decision to move over to an automated order fulfillment service wasn't easy. It means that the little touches you all have come to love and expect from our brand; like wrapping our products in tissue paper and spritzing them in our signature scent or leaving handwritten notes for many of you will no longer be an option. Trust this was not an easy decision for me. When we started the company back in 2010, one of the things I was most adamant about was the customer experience from start to finish. From choosing your products on a clean, easy to use website, to receiving your product in a present-like package that smells wonderful – no detail was ever overlooked. Four years and 8,000 orders later, I realize that these finishing touches just aren't sustainable for a business of our size if we truly want to scale and adapt to our growing demand.
That being said, all is not lost! There are many perks that come with this transition – most notable of all being faster shipping. Orders placed before 5:30am CST on business days are guaranteed to be shipped out the same day. Orders placed between 5:30am - 1:30pm CST are 'best effort' ship same day and orders placed after 1:30pm CST will be shipped guaranteed next business day. Expedited shipping options will now be available on the website and a warehousing solution allows us to keep many more products in inventory at one time to ensure a reduction of sold-out products on our website – particularly our essentials. As always, shipping is free within the continental US. 
What You Can Expect Moving Forward
As we charge through this exciting new transition for Haute Hijab, we will experience some interruptions in the next few weeks. As our entire inventory gets moved from one location to another, delays are to be expected. Once all the dust has settled and our new SKU system is in place, you can expect our company to run like a well-oiled machine, with orders going out swiftly and with ease. Please note that our return process will change with a more automated procedure and a new return address. Customer support will continue without a hitch. From here on out, erin.smith@hautehijab.com will no longer be a working address.
I still remember when my husband and I first started this company out of our Chicago apartment – we would transform our living room into a photo studio, pack orders and haul them to our local USPS store in the snow and I would run across town shopping for vintage scarves for our next collection. It’s so humbling to see how much we've grown and what a pillar we've become in the Muslim fashion industry. We thank you for sticking with us, for being loyal Haute Hijab customers, blog readers and supporters.
